From ESA this morning:
‘ As you may know already, Arianespace and ESA jointly agreed a few weeks ago to postpone the launch initially planned for 16 April 2009, in order to carry out additional checks on the ground segment of the Herschel and Planck programmes. Now these checks have positively concluded. However, the announcement of the new launch date of Herschel and Planck has been postponed to next week, while a panel of independent experts is carrying out a final cross-check of the documentation to demonstrate that the required safety margins for the telescope are met.’
As soon as we know anything more, we’ll post it!
