Coming Out with a Commercial Break

I have a small confession to make…

As well as being an astrophysicist, over the last few years I’ve been writing, and trying to sell, science fiction stories. I’ve always written as a hobby to some extent but have only recently been attempting to do this commercially. As is usually the case with these things, the going has been long and hard but, at the start of this year, I started to sell stories to various short fiction markets and have now got four such stories in press. These are mostly in anthologies, of which more later, but I’ve also managed to sell a story to the major US pulp magazine Analog. As you might expect, my writing tends to be in the ‘hard SF’ direction, focusing on real or realistic science, which is just the kind of thing that Analog publishes.

The reason I’m bringing this up now is that the first of these four stories is now out in print in the Footprints anthology, edited by Jay Lake and Eric T Reynolds, and you can all buy it from Amazon.

Buy several, you know you want to!

I’ll now return you to your normally scheduled Herschel updates.
